Month of Birds
month-long illustration project
The goal was set to complete a quick illustration of one bird each day in October.
The exercise was aimed at experimenting with different constraints, styles, and mediums. Certain days allowed more time than others, limited materials meant being flexible and selective focus forced thinking of new ways to approach the subject.
Special Olympic Games
For the opening ceremony of the Special Olympic Games, over 70 individual canvases were painted to form a portrait.
Volunteers were recruited to perform a choreographed routine as part of the opening ceremony using the painted panels on live television and to a full stadium of spectators.
A smaller representation of the work was created live, in-situ, with the subject as a focal point of the performance.
40+ canvases were prepared over a span of 3 days, with the entire project from conception to completion taking less than a week.
Pop-Up Graffiti Wall
A pop-up graffiti wall was constructed on Newcastle Beach as part of a Youth Week initiative in collaboration with local organisations including Samaritans, headspace and the City of Newcastle.
Large scale murals were created for the walls of boutique wine and food bar, Hop Factory. Pre-existing branding collateral was incorporated and extended to create two visually exciting artworks.
